10. SAFETY

Bed use only for movement within the patient room
for cleaning or patient access.
• The product should be stored in clean room that is: with a temprature of -10ºC~40ºC, at a relative
humidity below 80%, free from corrosive gas and well ventilated.
• Keep away from sun and rain during delivery.
• Requirements for safe operation: temperature to be 5ºC~40ºC, relative humidity ≤80%, atmospheric
pressure range to be 86kPa~106kPa, power supply a.c220V±22V, 50±1Hz.
• The bed should be kept away from equipment or devices that generate strong electromagnetic or other
interference. Electronic equipment may be influenced by Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). Caution
should be exercised with regard to the use of portable communications equipment in the area around
such equipment. If RFI causes erratic behaviour, unplug the electric bed immediately. Leave unplugged
while transmission is in progress.
• When the bed is not in use or is moving, put the power cords onto the suspension device to keep it
away from the ground and any working components or mechanisms. Do not run over leads or cables.
• If there is doubt about external protective wire then the equipment must be checked.
• Never use water or cleaner to clean the electrical components that would cause damage and leakage.
• After product life span, all original electrical components shall be recalled. The recall should be
performed by qualified company.
• The bed should be left in its lowest position when the patient is unattended in order to reduce risk of
injury due to falls.
• If a patient, for example, loses sense of direction due to drugs or clinical conditions, he may be stuck
when unattended. To avoid injury the bed should always be placed in flat position (unless the medical
personnel has other requirement for special use.
• To avoid injury the bed should not be operated until all persons are clear of any working mechanisms.
• Connecting the bed to the multiple socket outlet effectively leads to creating an ME system and the
result can be a reduced level of safety.
• Incompatible side rails and mattresses can cause an entrapment hazard.
• The product has been tested through strict inspection in the factory. The user should pay attention to
the assembly of components during use and maintenance. The adjustment of the motor must be carried
out by authorized technical pesonnel.
• The bed shall only be used with certain hoists, becuase of the limited space underneath the bed.
• The bed is limited to a specific group of patients.
• WARNING: To avoid the risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply
mains with protective earth.
• When routing cables from other equipment in or on the bed precautions should be taken to avoid
squeezing those cables between parts of the bed.
