The necessary precautions must be taken when handling the image plate to
avoid scratches or damage. Any damage to the image plate, of whatever
nature, will be visible in the image.

Cleaning the Image Plate
CAUTION:
Do not use disinfectants or any other solution on the image
plate.
Be aware that the image plate of the CR HD5.x S detector is a
very expensive part and therefore needs extra care.
To avoid any deformation always store the image plate
horizontally on a flat surface.
Do not put the image plate with the phosphor side facing down.

The inner lining of the cassette is made of fleece. This ensures a high degree of
protection against electrostatic charging and dust collection on the image
plates. Nonetheless it is recommended to clean the image plates at least once
every month or whenever there is doubt about particles visible on the X-ray
