USE PROPER TOOLS
FIG. 30: Make-shift tools and procedures can create
safety hazards. Use only the proper equipment and
procedures.
Use power tools only to loosen threaded parts and
fasteners.
Use only U.S. tools with U.S. fasteners and metric tools
with metric fasteners.
SUPPORT MACHINE PROPERLY
FIG. 31: Never support the vehicle on cinder blocks,
hollow tiles or supports that may crumble.
Never work under a vehicle that is only supported by a
jack. Use wheel chocks.
PROPER LIFTING EQUIPMENT
FIG. 32: Lifting incorrectly can cause severe injury or
vehicle damage.
Follow the procedures recommended in the proper
manual for removal and installation of components of
this vehicle, systems or components.
