Baud rate and buffer size concerns
Each port has a buffer which stores data coming in from the serial port and stores it until
it can be transmitted over the network. Normally this data is sent out over the TCP/IP
connection as quickly as it is received. During conditions of heavy network activity or
high latency the buffer may become full. When this occurs some data may be lost.
Data coming from the remote unit over the TCP/TP connection will be sent out over the
local serial connection at the specified baud rate. If the remote unit is sending data at a
higher rate than the local baud rate permits transmission, data may be lost.
