Start-up of the Device / Introduction
• Choose a suitable location for the device. Suitable loca-
tions are dry, even and antislip surfaces on which you may
operate the device easily.
• Make sure there is proper ventilation for the device!
• Sensitive surfaces may be protected by plastic foil.
Remove this foil.
Power Supply (Power Cable)
1. Ensure that the voltage is the same as that indicated on
the model identification plate.
2. Connect the power cable supplied to a properly installed
safety power socket and the mains connector 230 V on
the back of the device.
NOTE:
If the unit is not used for a long period of time, unplug the
mains plug from the socket.
Power Supply (Batteries)
(not supplied)
1. Open the lid of the battery compartment on the back.
2. Insert 4 batteries of type AA / R 6 1.5 V. Please ensure
that the polarity is correct (see the floor of the battery
compartment)!
3. Then close the battery lid.
WARNING:
The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such
as sunshine, fire or the like.
Danger of explosion!
CAUTION:
• Batteries can leak battery acid. If the device is out of use
for a long period of time, remove the batteries.
• Different battery types or new and used batteries must
not be used together.
• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with
domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the
relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s.
NOTE:
When a mains cable is connected the batteries are auto-
matically switched off.
Volume
The desired volume can be sent using the VOLUME MIN /
MAX regulator.
Function Selector Switch
• For switching between FM or AM mode.
• To switch off the device, set the switch to the “OFF“
position.
Listening to the Radio
1. Use the function selector switch to select the desired
frequency band.
FM = Ultra-short wave, AM = Medium wave
2. Tune the desired station with the TUNING control.
3. For FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna and turn
it to improve reception. The appliance features a built-in
antenna for AM reception. In order to improve the signal
of a station, please change the position of the appliance.
AUX IN Jack
For connecting to external players, e.g. MP3 player, smart
phone, tablet PC etc. (Cable not included)
1. Connect the external device to the AUX IN jack with a
3.5 mm stereo jack.
2. Turn the function selector switch to the “AM” or “FM”
position.
3. For further information, please refer to the manual for the
external audio source.
4. You can listen to the audio playback from an external
device through the speaker. You can use the control (1) to
adjust the volume.
NOTE:
• Adjust the volume of the external device to an audible
level.
• After about 15 minutes with no acoustic signal, the
device switches off automatically. To use the device
again, set the function selector switch to “OFF”. Then
set it back to “AM” or “FM”.
Cleaning and Maintenance
CAUTION:
• Do
not
immerse the device in water.
• Do not use abrasive detergents! These can damage
the casing!
• Make sure that no humidity or water penetrates in the
device!
• Any marks on the surface can be wiped off with a slightly
damp cloth without any additives.
• Dry well with a dry, soft cloth!
