1.1 Introduction
USM-500R is an high-performance edge workstation aimed at retail and hospitality
applications. Powered by an 8th/9th gen Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 processor, USM-500R
features three PCIe expansion slots that support the integration of graphics cards
and data capture cards for video recording and analysis.
Equipped with multiple I/O as well as two M.2 expansion slots, the USM-500R work

station can be easily connected to various devices and optional peripherals accord

ing to usage requirements. This allows USM-500R to be flexibly deployed as an
intelligent computing platform, AI server workstation, on-site edge computer, or facial
recognition/identity detection platform in a wide range of retail and hospitality environ
-
ments, public facilities, and office buildings. Moreover, with support for both Windows
10 and Linux operating systems, USM-500R provides an ideal open-source platform
for rapid software development.
Caution!
To prevent hardware damage and/or data losses, always shut down the
system and disconnect the power cable before installing or removing
any components, such as graphics cards or the CompactFlash storage
card.
