Putty is a free and open-source client application for Windows or Linux which
supports serial terminal, SSH and telnet connections.
In case the user platform does not have a RS232 port, you will need a USB to RS232
DB9 (male/male connector) serial adapter cable (user supplied).

2.2
Cable and System Connections
The system front view and rear view of the
FWA-T011-4CA1S
as well as the descriptions of
components on the front or rear panel are shown in Figure 3, Table 6, Figure 4, and Table 7
respectively. Before connecting FWA-T011-4CA1S to the power outlet, finish the cable
connections first.
Plug the Advantech Image USB drive into either one of the FWA-T011-4CA1S USB
2.0 ports (F7)
Connect the RS232 female end of RJ45/RS232 serial console cable to the RS232 male
end of USB/RS232 serial adapter cable
Plug RJ45/RS232 serial console cable into the FWA-T011-4CA1S console port (R6)
Plug USB/RS232 serial adapter cable into the USB port on the user platform
Connect the LAN port of the user platform to one of the LAN ports (R2 to R5) on
FWA-T011-4CA1S via RJ45 Ethernet cable or SFP fiber cable. This is only required if
you would like to access the QuickStart Image via SSH connection, refer to
Section
for more details.
