3.1
Introduction
AMIBIOS has been integrated into myriad motherboards for decades. In the past,
people often referred to the AMIBIOS setup menu as BIOS, BIOS setup or CMOS
setup.
With the AMIBIOS Setup program, you can modify BIOS settings and control the
special features of your computer. The Setup program uses a number of menus for
making changes and turning the special features on or off. This chapter describes the
basic navigation of the ASMB-584 setup screens.

AMI’s BIOS ROM has a built-in Setup program that allows users to modify the basic
system configuration. This information is stored in NVRAM area so it retains the
Setup information when the power is turned off.
3.2
Entering BIOS Setup
Press <Del> or <Esc> at bootup to enter AMI BIOS Setup Utility, the Main Menu will
appear on the screen. Use arrow keys to select among the items and press <Enter>
to accept or enter the sub-menu.
When users first enter the BIOS Setup Utility, they enter the Main setup screen.
Users can always return to the Main setup screen by navigating to the Main tab.
There are two Main Setup options. They are described in this section. The Main
BIOS Setup screen is shown below.
