Chapter 5 Software Setup
5.1 Introduction
The ARK-4170 has WinCE/XPe installed in the Flash. You may refer to
the "AdvantechWindowsCE5.0 Manual.pdf" on the CD ROM for more
detailed WinCE 5.0 information.
5.1.1 Booting Up the first Time
The ARK-
4170
system BIOS and custom drivers are located in a
256
Kb
Flash ROM device. A single Flash chip holds the system BIOS, VGA
BIOS and network Boot ROM image. The display can be configured via
CMOS settings, choose the “Boot display” in Advanced Chipset Features
sections of the Award BIOS Setup.
When booting up the system, you should see the Advantech logo first,
after finished the booting process, you should see the Windows CE with
ARK-4170.
