3192 Shelf Connections
The unit occupies two slots in a CI Wescom 3192
Office Repeater Bay. The unit may be plugged into
any of the first 28 slots of the shelf. No installation
wiring is required.
Power and alarm signals are provided to the card
through the backplane of the shelf. DSX-1 and HDSL
Loop signals are connected to the wire-wrap pins or
mass termination shelf connectors corresponding to
the slot the unit occupies. Connections to the DSX
pins are intended for intra-building wiring only. The
card edge pinout is shown in
Figure 4
.
The HTU-C contains an onboard fuse. If this fuse
opens, it supplies a -48 VDC to the fuse alarm bus; all
faceplate indicators will turn off. The fuse is not field
replaceable.
Powering Options
The ICOT will power the entire Total Access 1000 RT
System. When an HRE is used to extend the range of
the circuit, a second ICOT provides span power to the
HRE through two additional copper pairs. The Total
Access 1000 RT continues to receive span power
through the HDSL loops.
Compliance
This product is intended for use in Restricted Access
Areas Only and is to be installed in a Type “B” or “E”
enclosure. Also, ensure chassis ground is properly
connected.
Table 1
list the compliance codes.
LED Indicators
Table 2
describes the functionality of each of the six
faceplate LEDs.
3. PROVISIONING
The ICOT has no external provisioning switches. All
provisioning options are accessible via the VT100
terminal screens.
The DB-9 connector on the faceplate of the 3192
must be used to access the terminal screens. The
menu system enables provisioning, test access, and
alarm status monitoring of both the 3192 ICOT and
the modules in the Total Access 1000 RT. Also
through the menus, the ICOT and the Total Access
1000 BCU can be flash upgraded.
