6. Reinsert
the
rubber
grommet
with
the
ground
wire
back
in
the
SBU
ONT
housing
(see
Step
3
in
7. Ensure
the
ground
wire
is
routed
as
shown
in
Figure 9. SBU ONT Ground Connection
8. Route
the
12
AWG
ground
wire
12”
below
finished
grade
by
the
shortest
and
most
direct
route
to
the
AC
Multiple
Ground
Neutral
(MGN)
of
the
subscriber
premises
free
of
any
sharp
bends.
(See
the
if
MGN
is
not
available).
9. Attach
the
12
AWG
ground
wire
to
the
side
of
the
subscriber
premises
with
stainless
steel
half
moon
clamps
or
tie
‐
wrap
the
ground
to
the
riser
conduit
of
the
buried
fiber
cable
drop.
When
using
tie
‐
wraps
wait
until
the
Limited
Power
Source
(LPS)
wire
run
has
been
installed
and
tie
‐
wrap
both
the
12
AWG
ground
wire
and
the
LPS
wire
run
to
the
riser
conduit
of
the
buried
fiber
drop
cable.
10. Clean
the
MGN
connector
with
emery
cloth
to
insure
a
stable
connection.
11. Coat
the
connection
with
a
metal
corrosion
preventative.
12. Connect
the
ground
wire
to
the
ground
lug
and
tighten.
13. Attach
a
Warning
Ground
Tag
to
this
grounding
connection.

TELEPHONE TROUBLESHOOTING:
1. Identify the bad line (POTS 1-8).
2. Plug any working phone into
the appropriate jack.
If the telephone works, the unit
is functioning normally.
If the telephone does not work,
contact your service provider.
3. Remove the telephone from the
POTS jack.
