DBU and LAN Card Slots
The DSU IQ rear panel has two card slots (labeled
DBU
INTERFACE
and LAN I
NTERFACE
) for the installation of dial backup, external
DCE, and ethernet cards. To insert cards, perform the following
steps:
1. On the rear panel, turn off the power switch.
2. Slide the card into the corresponding rear slot until the card
panel is flush with the DSU IQ chassis.
3. Push card locks in (until they click) to secure the card and
ensure proper installation.
Telco Connector: Network Interface Connection
The DSU IQ has an 8-position modular jack labeled
T
ELCO
. The
Telco connector is used for connecting the unit to the DDS network.
The pinout for this connector is listed in Pinouts on page A-1.
Card slots are keyed to prevent improper installation (i.e., putting a DBU
card into the ethernet slot). The external DCE card is keyed for the DBU
slot.
Failure to remove power from the unit before installing or removing op-
tion cards can damage the unit.
