BERT Test Functions
When selecting the BERT Test Functions option from the Loopbacks and Test Commands
menu, the BERT Test Screen displays (
Figure 25 ).

The following options are available from the BERT Test Screen:
• “(Re)start Pattern” on page 33
• “Stop Test” on page 33
• “Select Data Pattern” on page 34
• “Enter Test Timeout” on page 34
• “Toggle Test Direction” on page 35
• “Inject Bit Errors” on page 35
NOTE
The BERT only runs unframed patterns. When the BERT is run-
ning, option

changes to “Inject Bit Errors”.
(Re)start Pattern
The (Re)start Pattern option is used to start (or restart) a test.
Stop Test
The Stop Test option is used to manually stop the test.
