RX (receiver) unit configuration
In the ALIF srstem, the RX unbt determbnes where and h w data
sbgnals are sent (and recebved) br the TX unbt. Alth ugh numer us
ALIF t ⁸ l gbes ( ne-t - ne, ne-t -manr, manr-t - ne, etc.) are
made ⁸ ssbble, ther are all de⁸endent n tw underlrbng m des f
operation: either
Unicast
or
Multicast
transmbssb n. Where multbcast
transmbssb n bs n t bnv ed f r vbde and/ r audb data, ⁸eratb n
wbll be aut matbcallr served br unbcast netw r transmbssb n
techn l gbes.
Configuring the RX unit

based c n guratb n utblbtr.
2 Ensure that the IP address and netmas f r thbs RX unbt are c rrect.
The Srstem IP Address set here wbll be sent t the TX unbt as the
destbnatb n f r transmbtted data (when bn unbcast m de).
3 Chec that the data streams (Vbde TX, Audb TX/RX and USB
TX/RX) are enabled (tbc ed) r dbsabled (untbc ed) as a⁸⁸r ⁸rbate.
There are sbmblar ⁸tb ns wbthbn the In nbtr TX unbt c n guratb n
and bt bs bm⁸ rtant that the settbngs bn b th unbts are the same.
4 In the Rem te Unbt Settbngs sectb n, enter the IP address f r the
TX unbt that wbll be su⁸⁸lrbng the vbde , audb and USB data
streams. M st ften all three streams are su⁸⁸lbed br the same
TX unbt, h wever, bt bs ⁸ ssbble t recebve them fr m dbfferent
locations (click the blue arrow to reveal the separate addresses).
5 F r bnstallatb ns that wbll bnclude m re than ne RX unbt, r u als

Multicast Settings
section.
The Vbde and Audb sectb ns are c n gured bn the same war:
! Tbc the Enable Multbcast Vbde / Enable Multbcast Audb b x.
! Next, enter an a⁸⁸r ⁸rbate Multbcast Address f r the Vbde /
Audb data stream(s). The IP addresses between 224.0.0.0
and 239.255.255.255 are s⁸ecb callr reserved br netw r s f r
multbcast ⁸eratb ns.
The address that you enter will be used by the RX unit to
‘lbsten-bn’ n the data stream fr m the TX unbt. Thbs same IP
address needs t be set n everr RX unbt that wbll sbmblarlr
recebve the data stream. The vbde and audb multbcast
addresses can be the same r dbfferent, as requbred.
