After you verify the shipping package contents, follow this procedure to physically set up your
modem:
1
Turn off your computer.

Connect the cables to the modem rear panel as shown below.
•
phone cable for the DSL line port
•
Ethernet cable for the 10Base-T port
•
power cable for the modem Power connector

Set the MDI/MDI-X switch (next to the Power connector) to:
•
MDI-X when connecting to a network device such as a PC with an Ethernet NIC card
with a MDI port.
•
MDI when connecting to a device such as a hub, switch, or router with a MDI-X port.

Turn on your computer.
