2.5 Maintenance
2.5.1 Periodic
Maintenance Schedule
To keep L-861SE threshold/end light fixtures operating efficiently, follow a preventive
maintenance schedule. Refer to Table 7. Refer to FAA AC 150/5340-26 for more detailed
information.

Check for vegetation.
Remove vegetation. Use weed killer.

Check for misaligned fixture. Straighten, level, and align.
Check for dirty lamp socket. After turning off power, clean lamp socket.

Check for dirty frangible
coupling weep holes (stake-
mounted fixtures only).
Clean frangible coupling weep holes.
Check for dirt on fixture drain
holes.
Clean drain holes.
Semiannually
Check for improper ground
elevation.
Grade so frangible point is level with ground
elevation.
Check for improper light
elevation.
Maintain the same elevation for all light
fixtures.
Check for moisture present
in light housing or base.
Check drain holes and clamps. Check lens
for cracks. If damaged, replace. Use water
pump to remove water from the base.
Check for corrosion or loose
or chipped paint.
Scrape and repaint.
Annually
Check for cracks, corrosion,
and shorts.
