Replacing the UPS

The billboard must be powered on and off in a specific order to prevent garbled messages and other
display abnormalities. The billboard is powered on and off in the same sequence.

To replace the UPS

1.  Power off the billboard and the control cabinet.

Exit all operating software programs before removing power.

Power off the load center(s) on the back of the Billboard.

Power off the load center on the control cabinet.

Press and hold the UPS On/Off/Standby

button for one second, the alarm will

beep once indicating the UPS load output receptacles are now off.

Unplug the UPS power cord from the control cabinet’s AC outlet.

2.  Open the front and back doors on the control cabinet.

If applicable, remove the control cabinet’s padlock.

WARNING!

Possible fall hazard. When servicing billboard components, service personnel must use

a full body safety harness with lanyard. Connect the lanyard to the billboard head’s
safety cables; otherwise serious injury or death may occur.

Hazardous voltage. Contact with high voltage may cause death or serious injury. Always
disconnect power to equipment prior to servicing.

The UPS contains its own energy source (battery). Therefore the UPS receptacles may
be live even when the UPS is not connected to an AC supply.

Disconnect all the communication
cables and power cords from
the rear of the UPS.
