Upgrading the Controller Firmware
The controller automatically restarts to enable the new
firmware. The activity status and firmware version is displayed
in the terminal window on the second line after the restart.

From the
System Menu
, select
Shutdown/Restart
to shutdown
the system.

Remove the primary controller from the Controller 1 bay. Refer
to the
DuraStor Installation and User’s Guide
.
Note:
On the 6220SS, 7220SS, and 6200SR, the RAID controllers
are located in the 1U RAID appliance. To access these
controllers, remove the front bezel.

Install the second controller in the Controller 1 bay. Refer to the
DuraStor Installation and User’s Guide
.
This controller now becomes the new primary controller.

Verify the firmware of the new primary controller. See
Verifying
the Firmware Version on Your Controller
on page 3.
If both controllers have the same firmware, continue with
Changing the Controller’s Operating Mode
on page 8; otherwise,
upgrade the firmware on the new primary controller following
steps 1 through 8. Then, proceed to
Changing the Controller’s
Operating Mode
on page 8.
