PC Program Setup
The
Pro Setup top tab
reveals three
Pro Setup sub tabs,
1-Speakers, 2-
Levels,
and
3-Delays
. In the
1-
Speaker sub tab
, you determine the
speaker size for your front left and
right speakers, center speaker, left
and right surround speakers, and the
back surround speakers. Here you
can determine if you one or two back
surrounds and if they are large or
small. Please note, you always have
surround speakers. The back sur-
round speakers are the optional
speakers (for 6.1 & 7.1 surround
sound). This is also where you set
the subwoofer crossover frequency
(80Hz is the THX standard cross-
over frequency).
The
3-Delays sub tab
permits you
to set the delay level for each
speaker. Here, the speaker the
greatest distance from the seating
area is left at 0 Ft delay and will be
the reference speaker. All other
speakers have their delays set to the
difference in distance between them
and the reference speaker. Use a
measuring tape to determine each
speaker’s distance. Take the great-
est distance and subtract from it
each speakers distance. This is that
speakers delay value in Ft (33 cm).
The
2-Levels sub tab
lets you set
the speaker levels using the HTR-
2400’s internal pink-noise generator.
Here you can select to send Noise
to a specific channel and using an
SPL meter, raise or lower that
channel’s level so that the meter is
averaging -75 dB (C weighted, Slow
setting). You can also raise or lower
speakers by group (front, surround
and back). Finally, this is where you
can store up to four
Balance Pre-
sets
which contain both levels and
delays. Once one preset is stored
repeat these steps for other seating
positions in the theater.
