XII. PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE FAN FILTER MEDIA
The fan filter media should be cleaned with a mild soap and warm water solution or replaced periodically. If the
analyzer is used in a clean laboratory environment, it may require attention every six months. If the analyzer is
used in the production environment, it may require cleaning as frequently as once a week.
CAUTION
:
DO NOT REMOVE THE FOUR SCREWS HOLDING THE COOLING FAN IN-PLACE
A snap-in frame holds the filter media in place. Use a small screwdriver or knife to snap-out the frame holding
the media. Remove the media and clean thoroughly with a warm water/soap solution. Dry the filter, align it in
the fan frame, and snap the retaining frame back in place. Replace with new media if there are tears or holes.
CLEANING THE DISKS
Agtron calibration disk surfaces should be kept clean and free of contaminants. Clean the calibration disk
surfaces periodically using alcohol and a soft lint free cloth. Be careful not to scratch the disk surfaces. Don’t
forget to clean the Life Disk located under the sample drawer.
STORING THE TWO-SIDED CALIBRATION DISK
Keep the two-sided calibration disk in its box and away from direct sunlight whenever the disk-set is not in use.
Never leave the disk-set in the analyzer.
CLEANING THE ANALYZER INTERIOR
Unplug the analyzer
Remove the LIFE DISK from under the sample drawer. Clean the life disk with alcohol and a soft lint
free cloth
Remove the rectangular sample tray. Clean the sample tray with soap and warm water. Thoroughly dry
the tray before placing it back into the analyzer
Clean the top surface of the sample drawer with a soft cloth
Use a vacuum to remove any coffee that has accumulated inside of the analyzer
CLEANING THE DISPLAY & ANALYZER EXTERIOR SURFACE / KEYPAD
Use a soft cloth moistened with a 20% solution of water and Windex or alcohol to clean the exterior surfaces.
CAUTION
:
Use very light pressure to avoid damaging the LCD
RECERTIFYING THE ANALYZER & CALIBRATION DISKS
The E20CP-III and the two-sided calibration disk set should be periodically recertified to maintain analyzer
accuracy. Consult page 19 for the recertification procedure.
IMPORTANT OPERATION NOTES
Avoid exposing the analyzer to direct sunlight, extreme heat, and liquids
The analyzer will prompt more frequent calibrations if the environment temperature changes significantly
Do not connect the analyzer to a computer UPS
Keep the fan filter media clean
Keep the interior of the analyzer clean and free of stray coffee
Periodically remove and clean the Life Disk
Never use solvents or abrasives to clean calibration disks
