How to start your barbecue
•
When using the barbecue for the first time, leave the charcoal to glow for 30 minutes before you put food on the
grate. Smoke might develop when charcoal starts burning and you should therefore wait about 10 to 15 minutes
before you put any food on the barbecue.
•
Clean the grate with warm water and washing-up liquid; this will remove dust and wrapping residues.
•
Place the barbecue on an even, non-slip and dry surface.
•
Undo both clips and remove the grate.
•
Remove the charcoal basket with lid and fill basket with approx. 0.2 kg of charcoal right up to the
upper limit.
• Do not use any other fuel than charcoal.
•
Apply an thick ring of fuel paste around the centre of fuel paste tray.
•
Light paste with a match.
•
Turn air regulating control clockwise right up to the stop.
•
Insert charcoal basket with lid onto fuel paste tray.
• Take care not to burn yourself.
•
Replace the grate and turn it such that the clips align with their counterparts and lock clips.
•
Only place food on the grate once the charcoal is covered with a layer of white ash.
•
Should flames develop while the charcoal is glowing, reduce the intake of air via the air
regulating control. To this end turn it anti-clockwise.
You can now barbecue food on your device.
By using the air regulating control and with a little practice you can regulate the fan speed
and thus the heat. As required you can prepare your food to be crispy or have a softer
texture.
