CHAPTER 2 INSTALLATlON
Before using your AR-B2104, you must set the base address of
the I/O port. This chapter provides information on how to set the
base address switch. Pin assignments of the I/O connector is
also provided. Figure 1-2 shows the switch and component lo-
cations of the AR-B2104 card.
2.1 BASE ADDRESS SETTING
There is one DIP switch (SW1) located on the AR-B2104 card. It
is used to select the base port address of the AR-B2104. The
operation of AR-B2104 is controlled through the output ports.
Three consecutive I/O ports are used by the AR-B2104. The
base address of these output ports are selected by using base
address switch SW1. The AR-B2104 is factory-configured for a
base address of 3E0 Hex. lf this base address is already occu-
pied, you will need to change the base address switch setting. lt
is essential that each peripheral device, such as an AR-B2104,
be assigned a unique base address within the range of 100 to
3FC Hex. and that the address is on a 4-byte boundary. Use
Table 2-1 (next page) as a guide to select an unoccupied ad-
dress.
