
Commands
This is a list of the commands mentioned in this guide. It
covers four kinds of command:

BASIC commands and keywords (for example, CHAIN)
■
operating system commands (for example, *FX5,4)
■
Econet commands (for example, *PS)
■
file server commands (for example, *ACCESS).
<name> here stands for one of the following:
■
filename
■
file pathname
■
ambiguous file reference
■
directory name
■
directory pathname
■
ambiguous directory reference.
Elements of the syntax shown in square brackets are optional.
*
<name>
runs the machine-code program specified
*ACCESS <name><owner access string>/<public access
string>
sets an access string for the file or directory
*BYE
logs the user off
*CAT [<name>]
displays a catalogue of the directory specified; if no name is
specified, a catalogue of the user's main directory is displayed
*CDIR <name>
creates a directory
CHAIN" <name>"
loads and runs the BASIC program specified
*DELETE <name>
deletes the file or directory specified
