Connecting the Drive to Your Computer
1. The pins of the AC adapter connector are arranged
such that the connector can be inserted into the
Drive’s Power Port only one way. Orient the connec-
tor correctly and insert it into the Power Port.
It should not require much force to plug in. If the con-
nector will not go in, check the orientation and try again.
Do not force the connector or you may damage it and/or the Drive
and void the warranty.
. Plug the power cord into the socket in the AC adapter. Plug the
other end into an AC outlet. If the power cord has three prongs,
be sure to plug the cord into a three-prong (grounded) outlet.
. Connect the USB cable: Plug the Type A connector into a USB
.0 or USB 1.1 port on your computer or USB hub. Plug the Type
B connector into the USB .0 port on the back of the Drive. The
connectors can only be plugged in one way, so be sure to orient
them correctly.
. Press the power switch on the back of the Drive to turn it on.
. Proceed to the next section: "What to do next…"
