The table below will help you choose the appropriate focus mode:

Select normal auto focus for most occasions when you want the

Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.3m to infinity.
Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 1.8m to infinity.

Selects this when you want to capture a close up image.

Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 0.9m to 1.8m.

Selects this when you want to capture a more close up image.
Auto Focus
Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.02m to 0.4m.

Select the infinity-focus setting when you want to capture images
of subjects at a distance of infinity.

Select this when you want to capture a manual focus image.
Wide (zoom off): Approximately 0.02m to infinity.
Tele (at optical zoom 6x): Approximately 0.7m to infinity.
Setting the Focus
Images can be captured with the distance to the subject set by Normal Auto Focus, [
] Macro Auto Focus, [

] Super Macro Auto Focus, [

] Manual Focus.
1. Slide the mode switch to [
] and set the
mode dial to one of the photography modes.
The available focus settings will depend
on the selected photography mode.
2. Toggle the
button to select the desired
focus mode.

When you capture a close-up image at macro mode, the resolution of the
corner image may be inferior. This is normal and not a malfunction.
