These Fitting Instructions are intended solely for use by authorised AC Schnitzer dealers.
These Fitting Instructions are in all cases directed at professionals trained in BMW vehicles who have the correspond-
ing specialist knowledge.
All diagrams show LHD vehicles, for RHD vehicles proceed accordingly or follow separate Fitting Instructions. The dia-
grams shown are sometimes symbolic and apply accordingly.
As manufacturer, we are obliged to point out that any changes you make to a vehicle licensed for use on public roads
require approval by a test centre and registration in the vehicle documents. As the legal regulations may vary according
to location, please contact the competent authorities for information.
Safety Regulations for Handling Components with Gas Generators
Follow the instructions below to exclude causing faults, injuries and damage to the vehicle from the airbag unit:
- Follow safety regulations for handling components with gas generators.

Test and installation work may only be performed by suitably trained, professional personnel.
- In principle, the vehicle battery must be disconnected before performing any work on components of the airbag
system. The prescribed waiting time must be observed -
1 min
.
- The airbag module must be deposited only with the cushion (airbag) facing
upwards
.
- Do not apply force to the airbag unit.
- Only use the specified tools for releasing the airbag unit.
Fitting Time (1 unit = 5 Minutes)
The fitting time is
8 units.

Reversing ratchet with extension
Various sockets for reversing ratchet
