- Batteries must not be dismantled, pierced,
damaged, short-circuited, heated or thrown
into an open fire (risk of explosion!).
- Do not use the torch if it is visibly damaged
or is malfunctioning.
- Make sure the torch is kept out of reach of
children and people who are not able to use
it correctly.
- This torch is not a toy.
- This torch is not suitable for household room
illumination.
- Repair of this torch is only permitted by the
manufacturer (ABUS).
- Keep the torch away from salt water. Salt
water can damage the lamp and batteries
and cause the product to malfunction.
- Since this is an electronic product, please
consider the wanted environment of use
similar to the one of your smartphone.
- Store the torch in an area that is dry,
protected against direct sunlight and
excessive heat, and inaccessible to children.
- Do not use any harsh cleaning agents!
- Never submerge the torch in water, cleaning
fluid or other liquids. Never clean the torch
under running water.
- Brushes with nylon bristles, metallic brushes
or other hard surfaces and tools, such as
coarse cleaning sponges, blades, scrapers and
other similar items may damage the surface
of the torch and cause it to malfunction
or stop working.
- We recommend using a soft, dry cloth or a
slightly damp cloth to remove dust and dirt
from the torch.
- Remove the batteries if the torch is not used
for an extended period of time.

First commissioning
1. Unscrew the cover (E) of the battery compartment (C)
and remove it.
2. Insert 4 C type batteries (D) into the battery
compartment. Make sure the polarity is correct
when inserting them (see figure and note in the
battery compartment)!
3. Screw the cover back onto the battery compartment.
Operation
1. Press the ON / OFF button (A). The lamp shines with
full luminous intensity.
2. By pressing the on/off button again each time you
switch to > medium brightness > lower brightness >
off.
3. Press and hold (approx. 2 seconds) the button to
switch on the flash light function (stroboscope
effect). Press the on / off button to switch the flash
light off again.
4. By moving the lamp head (B), you can enlarge or
reduce the light cone (zoom). With a large light
cone you illuminate the close-up range, with a
small light cone you illuminate the distance.
When the battery power runs low, the light starts to
flicker and becomes weaker. Replace the batteries
immediately with four new 1,5 V Alkaline C
batteries. Only use high-quality brand-name batteries,
for example Panasonic, Varta or Duracell
.
