COVER ENERGY REQUIREMENTS

Cover motor specification label.

The motor has a maximum power of 120 W per hour 

(P = U x I = 24 x 5.00 = 120 W). 
During an opening/closure cycle for a 4 m x 8 m pool 

for example, the cover runs for 4 minutes (2 minutes 

in  one  direction  and  2  minutes  in  the  other,  or 

0.06 hours on one cycle) . The motor is not at its 

maximum and the average consumer intensity for 

the cycle is 2 A.

The 4 m x 8 m COVER CONSUMES 3 Wh of ENERGY
(E = P x t = U x I x t = 24 x 2 x 0.06 = 2.9 Wh) for one 

open-close cycle.

The cover (4 m x 8 m) only uses 2 % of the battery 

reserve for an Open-Close cycle. Full batteries can 

power 40 cycles while leaving enough in reserve to 

allow a safety closure.
(In  comparison,  a  6  m  x  12  cover  that  consumes 

an average of 3 A in 6 minutes uses 7.2 Wh, or 4 % 

of the batteries).

11.4 Solar kit element winterisation

PLEASE REMEMBER: The SOLAR PANEL and the charge 

REGULATOR, can STAY IN POSITION over the WINTER. 

If the SOLAR PANEL is NOT COVERED and continues 

to  charge,  the  BATTERIES  can  STAY  IN  PLACE. 

OTHERWISE, the BATTERIES must be disconnected 

and STORED IN A DRY PLACE at between 10 °C and 20 

°C after having been charged to 100 %, then recharged 

every 4 months, and before reuse.

maximum at 26 V for an output at 

100 %,

 or a power 

of 8 W per hour (P = U x I = 26 x 0.31 = 8 W).

For 5 hours of SUNLIGHT per day, the PANEL supplies 

40 Wh of ENERGY per day (E = P x t = 8 x 5 = 40 Wh).

THE BATTERY: STORAGE

The BATTERIES have a CAPACITY of 7 Ah, or a stock 

of ENERGY of 168 Wh (E = P x t = U x I x t = 24 x 7 x 1  

= 168 Wh).
