d) Results
The
Result
tab in the
Learn
and
Test
sections offer a view of the PinPrints as well as their comparison masks (if applicable).
Tick boxes at the top can help sort the PinPrints based on their comparison result (pass, fail or suspect). The option “Other” is
aimed at PinPrints that are unscanned or not compared (no saved data). Note that, in Matrix mode, double clicking on the
PinPrints will open the PinPrint viewer for advanced viewing of the results.
The zoom functions can be used to increase the size of the PinPrint windows. Holding the CTRL key and using the wheel on
your mouse (if available) will also have a zooming effect.
8.7 Report
The SENTRY software includes a reporting facility in order to provide evidence and traceability of your findings.
Once a test is completed, click on the
Report
button. A new window will appear, offering the following functionalities :
Select Template. Different templates can be used for reports. In order to modify or generate a new template, users
will need to access the Templates folder by clicking
Start/Programs/ABI SENTRY Counterfeit IC
Detector/SENTRY Data Folder.
The use of an HTML editor is recommended to modify the standard template
ReportTemplate.htm. However, word processors can also be used.
Component/Reference images. If images and photos have been added to the device documentation (see section 8.2),
they can also be added to the report. Select the image from the list available and, with the left mouse key still pressed,
drag the image to the area under component or reference as required.
Resize functions. All images, diagrams and PinPrints can be resized as required. The
Restore Default
button will
return to standard dimensions.
Pins to Include. If required, some of the PinPrints can be excluded from a report by clearing the tick box associated
with Success, Suspect or Fails. This is particularly useful if a device has a large pin count and the user is only
interested in the pins reporting a suspect or fail comparison.
Save report. Reports can be saved in an html format. However, they can also be saved as PDF by using a free printer
Print report . Reports can be printed directly to your printer.
8.8 Keeping your software up to date
On the
Help
menu, you can click
Check for Updates
at any time (provided you have an internet connection) to check
whether you are running the latest software. SENTRY will also check for updates automatically on start up. Users are able to
change how often these automatic checks are carried out and can switch them off completely by selecting
Never
. Note that if
Never
is selected, the only way to check for updates afterwards is to use the Help menu. Selecting
Never
cannot be
overwritten.
