a) Adding a scan profile 

To add a profile, click the 

Add

 button to create a blank profile called “

New Profile

”.  Select the profile in the profile list and 

carry out the following steps : 

 

Enter a suitable 

Profile Name

 – Usually something that describes this profile’s intended use to a user. 

 

Select a suitable 

Base Voltage Range

 from the list, for the device(s) you are going to test. 

 

Set the 

Low Peak Voltage

 – This is the lowest voltage used during the scan, and can be any value which is within 

the 

Base Voltage Range

.

 

 

Set the 

High Peak Voltage

 – This is the highest voltage used during a scan, and can be any value which is within the 

Base Voltage Range

.

 

 

Select a suitable 

Waveform

 type from the list, for the device(s) you are going to test – We recommend using a 

Sine

 

Waveform

, but others are available.

 

 

Select a suitable 

Source Resistance

 from the list, for the device(s) you are going to test.

 

 

Select a suitable 

Frequency

 from the list, for the device(s) you are going to test.

 

The 

Scan Profile

 is now complete, and you can save and exit by clicking the 

OK

 button or continue to editing profiles. 

 

b) Copying a scan profile 

To copy a profile select it from the profile list and click the 

Copy

 button to create a blank profile called “

Copy of

” your selected 

Scan Profile

 name.  Select the profile in the profile list and it is then possible to change the properties of the profile. You can 

save and exit by clicking the 

OK

 button or continue to editing profiles. 

 

c) Editing a scan profile 

To edit a profile select the profile in the profile list and it is then possible to change the properties of the profile.  You can save 
and exit by clicking the 

OK

 button, or you can edit another profile. 

Note only 

User

 profiles can be edited, if you wish to edit a 

System

 profile you must first make a copy of it.  

 

d) Deleting a scan profile 

To delete a profile select the profile in the profile list and click the Delete button. This will remove the profile from the list. A 
scan profile cannot be deleted if at least one device in the library is using it. 

Note that the profile is not permanently removed until the 

OK

 button is clicked.
