21. User interface

Local human-machine interface LHMI is not supported in
SAM600-IO. However, the user interface functionality can
be achieved using:
• Protection and Control IED Manager PCM600
• SAM600-IO LHMI service kit
There is no LHMI in SAM600-IO. The
SAM600-IO LHMI service kit can be used
to support commissioning, maintenance,
testing and troubleshooting. References
to LHMI in SAM600-IO user
documentation should be read as
SAM600-IO LHMI service kit.
SAM600-IO LHMI service kit

The SAM600-IO LHMI service kit should only be used as a
temporary local human-machine interface (LHMI) to help the
user to trouble shoot a device in field when status
information in PCM600 is limited. It can also be used as a
support tool during commissioning, maintenance or testing
activities.

SAM600-IO LHMI service kit
The SAM600-IO LHMI service kit contains the same
physical LHMI panel as used in 670/650 series which
includes the following elements:
• Display (LCD)
• Keypad
• LED indicators
• Communication port for PCM600
• Serial cable for connection between the SAM600-IO LHMI
service kit and the service port on the device.
