NIBA-01 Installation and Start-up Guide
COMM. MODE
This parameter selects the operating mode of the NIBA-01. The
NIBA-01 InterBus-S Adapter Module has two operating modes.
PCP
Process data channel and PCP channel enabled. This setting should
be selected if drive parameters are to be adjusted through the fieldbus.
IO
Process data channel enabled only. This setting is ideal for applications
that do not require drive parameter adjustment through the fieldbus.
Furthermore, equipment set-up is also simple, requiring only the
definition of addressing areas by means of the controller program.
IB TIME-OUT
If the communication between the NIBA-01 and the host fails, this
parameter defines the time after which the NIBA-01 stops
communicating with the drive. (See the drive manuals for information
on drive behaviour if this occurs.) Setting the parameter to 0 disables
the function. Otherwise, 1 unit corresponds to approx. 0.1 seconds.
Control Locations
ABB drives can receive control information from multiple sources
including digital inputs, analogue inputs, the drive control panel and a
communication module (e.g. NIBA-01). ABB drives allow the user to
separately determine the source for each type of control information
(Start, Stop, Direction, Reference, Fault Reset, etc.). In order to give
the fieldbus master station the most complete control over the drive,
the communication module must be selected as source for this
information. See the user documentation of the drive for information on
the selection parameters.
