Oil supply
3.1.1
Introduction
In all operating states, a functioning and carefully executed oil supply is an important prerequi-
site for trouble-free operation of the turbocharger.
The lubrication of the turbocharger is usually carried out with oil from the engine oil circulation.
Comply with the enginebuilder's specifications regarding the selection of lubricating oil and
the oil change intervals.
3.1.2
Pre-lubrication
Pre-lubrication must be carried out as follows:
Switch on the oil pump.
Build up oil pressure (see Table
Do not exceed a pre-lubrication time of 2 minutes.
Start the engine.
Let the oil pump run until the pump driven by the engine generates sufficient pressure.
3.1.3
Oil filtering
Filtering the
lubricating oil with a filter mesh width of ≤
0.034 mm is sufficient for this turbo-
charger.
3.1.4
Oil pressure
Comply precisely with the oil pressure before the turbocharger for trouble-free operation.
