Getting started Aastra 470

Register an Aastra 6700i SIP phone
Set up the phone in the communication server:
1. Set up the phone in the communication server according to the IP phone. As ter-
minal interface select
Aastra SIP
.
You will see the automatically generated SIP credentials and the registration
code (
Registration code
), which is usually the user’s call number. You will need
the registration code later to register the phone on your system.
2. Add the expansion key modules to the Aastra SIP phone.
3. Connect the Aastra SIP phone to the IP network and to the power supply using
the optional power adapter. If your IP networks supports PoE, no power adapter
is required.
4. Restart the phone.
The phone is now searching for the communication server by itself. If more than
one communication server is available, the phone will show a list in the form
<aastra4xx–MAC address>. Choose your communication server from the list.
Tip
You find the MAC address of your communication server in the tab
IP settings
of the application Aastra System Search.
5. Enter the registration code.
The phone registers on the communication server. If a new phone software is
available it is automatically updated and the phone restarts again.
Configuring VoIP
Enable the VoIP mode sytem-wide:
1. In the WebAdmin configuration assistant go to step
04. Configuring media re-
sources
.
2. Click the
Change
button and set
VoIP mode
to
G.711
. Click the
Apply
button.
A message is shown, telling you to restart the communication server. Before do-
ing so, continue with the next steps.
The system requires DSP resources for connections between IP and non-IP end-
points (VoIP channels). That means you have to allocate available voice channels to
required VoIP channels. Proceed as follows to do so:
1. Click the
Change
button and open the
DECT
dropdown in the table
DSP re-
sources
. Set the value to {empty}.
You resolved now the default allocation of the voice channels to the DECT func-
tion.
