b.  When the clip is clear of the lens frame slots, lift the clip up and out

of the way.

c.  Insert a cover plate into the weld shield.

d.  Insert a rubber lens gasket.

e.  To prevent glass breakage due to heat buildup, a fiber or plastic

gasket should then be placed between the cover plate and the
glass shade lens.

f.  Insert the glass lens into the lens frame, making sure that the cover

plate and lens fits completely inside of the lens gasket. If any of the
edges of the lens gasket are rolled over during the insertion of the
new lens, light leaks may result.

g.  Finally, insert an ANSI approved safety plate over the shade glass

lens and re-install the wire retaining clip.

NOTE:

Use the lower hinge slots for shade glass lenses and the

upper slots for electronic lens. Be sure the curve of the wire is
towards the lens and that the clip is seated in the two retainer slots.

15) Installing the Electronic Lens into the Welding Shield

:

a.  Grasp the wire welding lens retainer clip and pull gently in the

direction of the welding shield’s chin.

b.  When the clip is clear of the lens frame, lift the clip up and out of

the way.

c.  Insert a cover plate into the weld shield.

d.  Insert the rubber lens gasket.

NOTE:

A fiber gasket is

not

used with the electronic lens.

e. Insert the electronic lens adapter assembly into the lens frame,

making sure that the cover plate and lens fits completely inside of
the lens gasket. If any of the edges of the lens gasket are rolled
over during the insertion of the new lens, light leaks may result.

f.  Re-install the wire retaining clip. Make sure that the retaining clip

seats itself into the two slots at the bottom of the lens opening.
