In some cases, a higher scanning resolution such as that offered by the high resolution option of
the 3M™ Full Page Reader or by the 3M™ Broad Spectrum Reader will be required to capture
more detailed images. Due to the document variability, 3M cannot guarantee that the high
resolution option of its readers will be able to read every PDF 417 barcode. For some documents,
the use of a specialized, hand-held 2D bar code reader may be the most reliable option for
reading 2D barcodes.
Identification Cards
Identification cards typically have a photo and basic information on the front and a 3-line MRZ
on the back.
