The following example shows an OSPF memory partition summary
display:
This display shows three partition parameters:
■
Current partition maximum size
(
500000
in this example) —
The OSPF memory limit implemented at the last system reboot.
■
Configured partition maximum size
(
500000
in this example) —
The last value that you entered, which becomes the current partition
maximum size at system reboot.
■
Allocated partition size
(
100000
in this example) — The module’s
current working memory. OSPF dynamically allocates memory in
100,000-byte chunks up to the current partition maximum size.
Modifying Memory
Partitions
This command changes the OSPF memory allocation. This change takes
effect at system reboot.
In normal circumstances, you are unlikely to have to modify the OSPF
memory allocation.
To modify a memory partition:
1
Enter the following at the top-level menu:
ip ospf partition modify
The following prompt is displayed:
Maximum partition size is 8443220 bytes
Enter new partition maximum size (in bytes) [500000]:
2
Enter the new partition size (in bytes).
New partition size will take effect after reboot.
The maximum partition size (
8443220
in this example) shows how much
total memory is available to define as the OSPF maximum partition.
