Pivoting Your Rack
The Quik Rack has four positions it can pivot to.
Position 1
, or top slot, is the
Vertical Position and is used when no bike is being hauled.
Position 2
, the second
slot, is the Extra Clearance Slot (large bumper or spare tire), also used when no
bike is being hauled.
Position 3
is the Transportation Slot (bike on rack position).
Position 4
does not have a slot but is used to lower the bikes to access the trunk
or hatch of your vehicle.
Note: Be sure the black Pivot Bar is fully engaged into the slots. Check this by
pulling up and down on the rack. Once in desired position, the Black Knob is
threaded around the Gold Bar can be twisted down to secure the black Pivot
Bar into place.
Loading your bikes
Step 1:
To open the Support Arms, lift the red Arm Stop while opening each
Support Arm. To close the Support Arm, push them in the downward position.
Do not touch
the red Arm Stop while closing.
Step 2:
Set your bike on the tray and close the Support Arm. Be sure your bike is
centered on the tray so both Support Arms are in the same approximate angle
when closed. The Support Arms will not open unless the red Arm Stop is lifted, as
shown in the image above. This keeps your bike held securely as the Support
Arms cannot open.
Step 3:
Once your bike is positioned, push inward on the Support Arms to squash
the tires with the wheel spools. When loading multiple bikes, it is best to face
the bikes in opposite directions for better seat handle bar clearance.
To unload
bikes, push inward on the Support Arm to relieve pressure on the Red Arm
Stop.
Adjust the bike so the tires don’t touch the bolt that bases through the
“V” channel on the tray.
The Quik-Rack Roof Rack is shipped ready for 26”, 27”,
29” or 700-C wheels. Have smaller bike tires? The wheel spools can be lowered
on the Support Arms to accommodate tires as small as 16”.
