Restoring factory defaults
The
RESET
button is located on the back of the unit next to the nameplate:
ATTENTION
Resetting interrupts all ongoing telephone calls and Internet connections. Conse-
quently, if you have customized any settings on your VMG5304, please save the
custom configuration via the user interface before resetting the device. You can
then reload the configuration into the device later.
To restore the factory settings, proceed as follows:
1. Press the
RESET
button for about 10 seconds until the
PWR
LED flashes.
2. The PWR LED lights up red for about 30 seconds and then turns green again.
After about 2 minutes, the VMG5304 will be operational again.
3. You will now need to set up the VMG5304 again as described in the „ Initial
setup“ section or reload your saved configuration.

Use a ballpoint pen or something
similar to press the RESET button.
Firmware update
If you want to update the software of your VMG5304, please download this first
from the support pages of Zyxel at:
www.zyxel.de
Then connect the computer on which the new firmware file is located to your
VMG5304 and call up the page
zyxel.box or 192.168.100.1 via your Internet browser.
Enter the password for access to the user interface and open the menu item
System/Firmware Update
. Follow the instructions there to perform the update.
