1.6 Turn on the UNS
Push the button on the front panel to turn on the UNS.
It is recommended to use the web configurator
Shutdown
menu to turn off the UNS. Alternatively,
hold the button on the front panel in for several seconds to turn off the UNS.

PORT
DESCRIPTION
Power Connectors
Connect the female end of a power cord to the module power socket. Connect the
other end of the cord to an appropriate power outlet.
Console Port (C)
This port is reserved for service technicians. Connect this port to a computer with
terminal emulation software to troubleshoot the UNS using the command line
interface (CLI).
VGA Port (V)
This port is reserved for service technicians. Connect this port to a computer to
troubleshoot the UNS using the command line interface (CLI).
Port 1
Connect an Ethernet cable to this port to access UNS using the web configurator.
This port can operate at 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds and is not VLAN-aware. If
there is no DHCP server in your network, then the default IP address of this port is
169.254.1.1. You can use that IP address to access the web configurator.
1G Ports - 2 on
UNS2700 and 2-6 on
UNS2300
Connect the UNS to a 1G device in your network (computer, switch, router, and so
on) using an Ethernet cable. This port can operate at 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds
and is not VLAN-aware.
10G Ports - 3, 4 on
UNS2700
Connect the UNS to a 10G device in your network (computer, switch, router, and so
on) using an 8-wire Ethernet cable. These ports can operate at 10000 Mbps speeds
and are not VLAN-aware.
USB
Use the USB ports to upload firmware from a USB memory stick, dump system
information to a USB memory stick or connect a mouse or keyboard for use when
a monitor is connected to the VGA port. You cannot connect USB hard drives to
these ports.
