Appendix A Product Specifications

ES-305 User’s Guide

The following list, which is not exhaustive, illustrates the standards supported in the ES-305.

Connect to your ES-305 Using Telnet

The following procedure details how to telnet into your ES-305.

In Windows, click

Start

(usually in the bottom left corner),

Run

and then type “telnet

192.168.0.1” (the default IP address) and click

Firmware Upgrade

Download new firmware (when available) from the ZyXEL web site and

use the web configurator or an FTP tool to put it on the ES-305.

Note: Only upload firmware for your specific model!

Configuration Backup &

Restoration

Make a copy of the ES-305’s configuration. You can put it back on the

ES-305 later if you decide to revert back to an earl

er configuration.

IP Multicast

IP multicast is used to send traffic to a specific group of computers. The

ES-305 supports versions 1 and 2 of IGMP (Internet Group Management

Protocol) used to join multicast groups (see RFC 2236).
