Using the Onscreen Keyboard to Enter 
Text 

You can also use the onscreen Android keyboard to enter text. If the 
keyboard is enabled, it automatically appears on the screen when you enter a 
field that needs text. 

TIPS:

 The keyboard automatically appears on the screen when you enter a field 

that needs text. You can hide it by pressing

Android Keyboard

 

The Android Keyboard provides a layout similar to a desktop computer 
keyboard. To make it even more like a normal keyboard, turn the phone 
sideways and the screen will change from portrait to landscape.   

To use the landscape keyboard, just tick the 

Auto-rotate screen

 check box 

in 

Settings > Display

. (The landscape QWERTY keyboard is not 

supported in all applications.)
