1.13 Notes on Text Modes, Predictive Text and Special Characters

Your current text mode is indicated by
En (predictive text)

Use the

to switch between different text modes

ABC Mode
Q
In
ABC
or
abc
mode press the key with the required letter once for the first letter,
twice for the second letter etc.
Q
Press and hold the key to enter the corresponding number.
Q
To insert a space press the “
0
” key. To delete letters press the
Clear key
.

If the next letter is on the same key, wait until the cursor appears or press the
Right
Arrow Key
to move the cursor on.

Press the
1 key
for common punctuation marks.

Press the
* key
for special characters.
Predictive Text Mode
Q
Predictive text (En)
is based on a built-in dictionary and generates words from the
combination of letters pressed.
Q
Press the letter keys once for each letter. For example to write “set”, press 738.
Q
When you finish writing the word and it is correct, press
OK
to confirm
Q
If the word is not correct, use the
Up
and
Down Arrow Keys
to select a different word
and press
OK
to confirm. You may use
My Words
to add words to the dictionary.

In text input modes (eg SMS and MMS) you can add your own words to the built-in
Dictionary

My Words
