FSAP 9800 Technical Manual

Tree Networking

The tree topology is point-to-multipoint structure, as shown in

Figure 22

. This structure uses a series of

s to branch the signals

to multiple users. These DPs aggregate uplink signals together and
send them to the

OLT

. The branching devices at the DP are con-

figured in 1:N.

Bus Networking

The bus topology is also a point-to-multipoint structure, as shown
in

Figure 23

. Actually, from the OLT to the DP, it is the bus struc-

ture. From the DP to the ONU, it is the star structure. In such a
structures, the DP sends signals from the OLT to the ONU on the
bus. Meanwhile, the DP inserts the signals coming from the ONU
to the bus and sends them to the OLT.
