Thank you for choosing ZONEX SYSTEMS, we hope you will be
satisfied with your purchase.
The 101PROG is compatible with most 24 V single stage heating
and air-conditioning systems. The 101PROG offers two types of
temperature control: proportional adaptive and conventional. For
optimal comfort and maximum energy saving, the 101PROG
features a 7-day fully independant programmable schedule with
automatic changeover (from heat to cool and vice versa). An
optional remote telephone controller (CT240) can be connected to
the 101PROG, allowing users to control their system while away
from home.
Installation
n
Disconnect power to your system.
Install the thermostat
For a new installation, choose a location about 5 feet above the
floor, with good air circulation. The thermostat must be installed on
an inside wall. Avoid locations where there are air drafts (top of a
staircase, air outlet,...), dead air spots (behind a door,...), direct
sunlight, concealed chimneys or stove pipes.
NOTE:
Caution: If, upon removing an existing thermostat, you see
that it is mounted on a junction box (similar to the junction box
located behind an electrical switch or outlet), this may indicate that it
is a 120/240 V system. For safety, consult a qualified electrician to
check the installation.
Install and connect the thermostat
n
Remove the screw holding the thermostat mounting plate.
o
Lift the lower part to separate the plate from the thermostat.
p
Mount the plate on the wall using the provided screws.
Identify the wires
n
If the wall plate of your old thermostat has more than two wires
coming out of the wall, you will need to label the wires. Start by
identifying the letters close to each screw or terminal on which
a wire is connected. These terminals may be located on either
side of the plate.
o
Disconnect and identify each wire

.
p
Attach and affix wires to the wall in order to prevent the wires
from falling back into the wall. If the wall cavity is larger than
necessary, fill with insulating wool in order to prevent the infil-
tration of warm or cold air behind the thermostat.

Wiring Diagrams
Connect the system wires to the thermostat terminals according to
the wiring diagram shown below. Ensure that wires are pushed
back into the wall.
NOTE:
If you own an optional CT240 telephone controller, refer to
“Telephone Controller” section on page 4 for connection instruc-
tions.
