Power Indicator Icons
The aspirator uses icons (displayed in the shared icon area) to indicate the power and battery
status.
When the battery is charging, horizontal lines scroll vertically through the icon, from the
bottom row to the top. The scroll rate faster when the battery is rapid charging and it slows
when trickle charging.
When the device is “OFF” and connected to power, the screen provides a battery indicator.
When charging, the indicator scrolls as described above: when fully charged the indicator is
static and percent (%) charge is 100%.
Device Mounting Options
Mounting options for the device include the CCLAW and SMEED (see Accessories Section for
part number information). These mounts allow the collection canister to be mounted in either
side of the aspirator.
Noise, Power, and Use Features
The noise, power and use features include:

Smart Flow
The Smart Flow feature automatically detects when the user applies suction and quickly
increases the pump speed to achieve the set vacuum level. This feature has the most benefit
when used in surgery where it reduces the noise generated by the pump and reduces power
consumption. To accommodate various suction catheters the device can determine the
resistance if the catheter tubing and collection cannister so that Smart Flow triggers the device
when needed. See Chapter 4 “Smart Flow Calibration.
Icon Description
External power connected. Aspirator is operating from
external power.
External power NOT connected. Aspirator is operating from
internal battery power.
Estimated remaining internal battery capacity. Dark area
indicates level of battery charge and the number below the
icon displays the percent (%) of charge in the battery.
