INSTALLATION AND CIRCUIT - Drainage
IV -3-2-Operation of the deck drain hole and hull feedthrough
NOTE :
The hull feedthrough comprises:
;
a fixed flexible membrane that:
- distorts, to drain the water on the bridge from inside the boat to
the outside.
-sticks to the bottom to provide temporary tightness, stopping the
water from coming into the boat from the outside.
The dumping system comprises:
;
a removable plug, that:
depending on its position, enables or disables the mechanism,
alone, ensures final tightness between the outside and inside of the
boat.
;
a bracket to store the plug.
IV-3-2-1-Boat outside the water (on trailer, cradle, etc.)
Drain hole open, plugs removed.
IV-3-2-2-Boat in the water
;
During navigation
Drain hole closed, plugs in position.
;
Draining procedure for on-board water
With the boat stopped, remove the plug and then sail in buoyancy position
(> 6 kts) as long as necessary to drain the water. Then stop and replace the
plug.
;
At anchor
Drain hole open, plugs removed.
WARNING
IF THE BOAT RECEIVES A LARGE AMOUNT OF
WATER FROM THE OUTSIDE (POURING RAIN, WAKE,
ETC.) WHEN THE PLUGS ARE IN POSITION, THE BOAT
MAY FILL UP. THE WATER INSIDE COULD THEN
REACH THE BILGE AND OVERLOAD THE BOAT,
CAUSING IT TO SINK AND CONSIDERABLY
DAMAGING SOME PARTS LIKE THE ENGINE OR
ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS.
