For proper operation, the acceptable flow rate for the Pro A Plus

is 20 to 80 GPM.
For flow rates up to 80 GPM, use the fittings provided to connect the

corrugated tubing from the filter to the Pro A Plus.
For flow rates of more than 80 GPM, the unit must be hard-plumbed

using schedule 40 PVC.

If your pump system is designed to produce flow rates greater

than 80 GPM or if the plumbing is greater than 2”, the Pro A Plus

must be installed in a bypass configuration.

Install the Vessel

IMPORTANT: Turn off the pump and filter. Isolate the pool

equipment (to prevent pool draining), plugging all lines between

the equipment and the pool, or closing the in-line valve.

Decide where to install the Pro A Plus vessel. It must be installed:

•  on a concrete slab to support the weight of the vessel
•  after the filter on the main return to the pool
•  after the heater (downstream from a solar heating system)
•  with a check valve between the vessel and the pool return

to prevent the pool from draining during installation, cartridge

change or chlorine tablet addition

Never install Pro A Plus feeder directly into copper plumbing as

pipe damage may occur. If you have brass or bronze backwash

valves, or other sensitive metallic components, consult your

dealer for precautions or recommendations.

Refer to the diagram below for part references.

1.  Wrap the hose adapters from the parts bag (holding adapter with

threaded end towards you) with Teflon

®*

tape three (3) or four (4)

wraps, overlapping about half the tape on the threads.

Note: If the pool uses the large diameter hose (1-1/2”), cut off

the ends of the adapter (the 1-1/4” stubs) as marked on each

adapter, so water flow is not blocked.

2.  Hand tighten both adapters into the base of the Pro A Plus.

Then, with a wrench, tighten no more than one-half turn more.

3.  Disconnect the hose on the outlet side of the filter. Connect it to

the outlet side (chlorine side) of the vessel.

4.  Install a new section of connector hose between the outlet side

of the filter and the inlet side of the vessel. Use hose clamps

(in parts bag) to secure the hose. The new installation will be:

Pool - Pump - Filter - Nature

2

 Vessel - Pool.

5.

Important: Do not install the Nature2 Cartridge.

 Screw on

the vessel caps until snug.  Do not over tighten. Verify that all

connections are secure.

6.  Open any valves (remove plugs) used to isolate the equipment.

Start the pump and check the system for leaks.

Hard-Plumbing Installation

1.  Connect the outlet from the filter to the vessel inlet port with

the appropriate Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Secure the connection

with PVC pipe glue.

2.  Connect the vessel outlet port to the pool’s return line with the

same type of PVC pipe and secure with pipe glue.

3.  Allow sufficient time for the glue to dry.
4.

Important: Do not install the Nature2 Cartridge.

 Screw on

the vessel caps until snug. Do not over tighten. Verify that all

connections are secure.

5.  Open any valves (remove plugs) used to isolate the equipment.

Start the pump and check the system for leaks.

Bypass Installation

Install the Nature2 vessel on a bypass loop as the last component on

the pool return line. To create the bypass.

1.  Install two (2) tees in the pool return line to allow water to be

diverted to the Pro A Plus vessel.

2.  Connect the bypass line from the first tee to the inlet of the vessel

and from the outlet of the vessel, connect a line to the second tee.

3.  Install a control valve in the return line between the first and

second tee to control the water flow through the bypass.

4.

Important: Do not install the Nature2 Cartridge.

 Screw

on the vessel caps until snug. Do not over tighten. Verify that

all connections are secure.

5.  Open any valves, including the control valve, that were closed.

Start the pump, diverting water through the new bypass.

6.  With the valve open, read the pressure on the filter gauge. Adjust

the control valve until the filter gauge increases by 2 psi.

7.  Check the vessel and system for leaks.
