1U SHELF TYPE MAS-2
WITH ASYNCHRONOUS PROGRAMMABLE MODEM MAFP - Rev. 9 (January 2018)
24/39
In order to put the module back into the shelf, the process for extraction must be carried out
in reverse. When the module is in place in the slot, the connectors must be inserted in the
back panel of MAS-2 equipment. Once inserted, the two quarter-turn fasteners in the
front-plate can then be put in the locked-module position.
The reference name corresponding to the module, that is, the abbreviation, type, version
and revision is printed on an adhesive label located on the connector of the module.

EXTERNAL CONNECTION
The MAS-2, at the back part, consists of four connection blocks, one for the power supply,
another for line connection, either reception or transmission, a third for the general-alarm
relay associated to the modem, and a fourth, a 25-pin female connector type SUB-D for the
connection of a RS-232C interface. Each one of the blocks is distinguished by the letters
printed above it.
In the figures and the table that follow is shown the use of the power-supply connector, of
the alarm connector, of the line connection terminals and the pins of the connector for the
RS-232C interface. Figure 19 shows the rear view of the shelf, where the distribution of the
four connection blocks is indicated.
The power-supply and alarm aerial female connectors are suitable for 2.5 mm
2
flexible and
rigid conductors. The line terminals are suitable for 2.5 mm
2
flexible conductors and 4 mm
2
rigid conductors.
