4.5 Oil fi lling
Information
The drive is delivered with an oil fi lling. Check the oil level with the dipstick (1) before start-up.

" In order to be able to pull out the oil dipstick vertically upwards, the free space above the
machine must be as high as the oil dipstick is long (ZAS0 = 281 mm).

" For gear machines made by ZIEHL-ABEGG SE only synthetic oils containing active ingredients
for increased corrosion protection and ageing resistance as well as reduced wear in the mixed
friction area in accordance with DIN 51517-3 (DIN 51517-3 - CLP PG ISO VG 460) are
permissible.
" Never mix synthetic oil with mineral oil!
The synthetic oils have a greater application temperature range than mineral oils and contribute
additionally to higher ef fi ciency of the gearbox. These oils are suitable for an application temperature
range of -20 ° C to +80 ° C.

4.6 Setting the operating brake
The brake is set in the factory to the maximum spring pre-tension (see table "Setting the spring pre-
tension"). However, you should check the values on site according to the following points.
